OBITUARY OF LARS JORGENSEN


Lars Jorgensen, born April 24, 1839 in Eidsvold, Norway, died Dec. 21, 1924 at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 26 days. He was the son of Dr. Jorgen Tonsaker and Martha Tonsaker, Eidsvold, Norway.


Mr. Jorgensen was united in marriage to Mathilda Thoreson of Kongsberg, Norway in 1869. She having preceded him in death Jan. 10, 1907.
He leaves to mourn his loss, one daughter, Mrs. Carl Benson, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.


Mr. Jorgensen came to Longwood, Clark County, Wis. from Christiania, Norway in 1883 and has lived there ever since, excepting two years spent in Washington.


He has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Carl Benson for the last 17 years.


Funeral services were held Dec. 23, 1924 from the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Longwood and burial was made in the Church Cemetery.
