AREA RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 88


GREENWOOD--Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood for Mrs. Alma Mason, 88, of Greenwood, Clark County, who died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 1973 at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where she was admitted Jan. 2.


The Rev. Eugene Antrim, pastor, officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Hill Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.


The former Alma Watrud was born Dec. 2, 1884 in Blanchardville and received her education in schools in that area. She was married Feb. 20, 1907 at Blanchardville to Clarence Mason, who preceded her in death July 16, 1941.


Following their marriage, they lived in Blachardville until 1915, when they moved to Greenwood. They farmed in the area until 1935, when they came to their present home in the city.


Mrs. Mason was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood and the Women's Forest Queen Camp, Royal Neighbors of America.


Her survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Minerva) Strommer, Spooner, and Mrs. Lloyd Longridge, and Mrs. Clarissa Steele, both of Greenwood a son, Robert, St. Joseph, Mo. 13 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren a sister, Mrs. Ted (Clara) Anderson, Stoughton and four brothers, .(the rest was cut off)
