SERVICES HELD AT ST. MARY'S, GREENWOOD FOR HARRY PLUNKETT


Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 4, for Harry Plunkett, 75, Route 1, Greenwood, Clark County, who passed away at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, 1976, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.


Rev. Robert Houston officiated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood and burial was made at Tomah, Wis. A wake service was also held on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.


Harry Plunkett was born on Sept. 20, 1901, to Joseph and Raka Plunkett at Tomah. He received his education at the Tomah Schools. On Jan. 18, 1923, he was married to Frances Evangelists at Chicago. They lived in Chicago until 1938, where he worked as a truck driver. The couple then moved to Greenwood in 1942 and he worked at the John Wuethrich Company until his retirement in 1966. Following his retirement he worked as a custodian at St. Mary's School and parish church. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1972.


Harry Plunkett was a member of St. Mary's Church, Greenwood.


Surviving him are his wife five sons, Patrick, La Crosse, Joseph, Bloomington, Minn., Harry Jr., Milwaukee, George, Dellwood, and Timothy, La Crosse one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Alice) McCarty, Park Forest, Ill. three brothers, Joseph and Ellsworth, Warrens, Wis. and Maruice, Kenosha one sister, Miss Alice Plunkett, Warrens, Wis. twenty eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one brother, one son, Leroy, and one grandson.


Serving as pallbearers were his five sons and one son-in-law. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.
