Funeral services for David Goodbrand, 63, 406 First St., Loyal, Clark County, were held Monday, Oct. 11 at the United Methodist Church in Loyal. Rev. Eugene Carlson officiated at the 1 p.m. service. Burial took place in the Loyal Cemetery with the Rinka Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodbrand died Friday, Oct. 8, 1976, at the Neillsville Hospital following a lingering illness.


Born at Riceville, Iowa, on May 9, 1913, Mr. Goodbrand received his education at the Riceville schools. He was married to Julia Hansen on July 17, 1942 in Missouri. The couple farmed in Iowa until 1958, when they moved to Greenwood, Clark County, where they continued to farm in the Town of Beaver until his illness.


A veteran of World War II, he was given full military rites by the Loyal American Legion Post 175.


He is survived by his wife Julia, seven daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Joan) Brecht, Mrs. Clarence (Bonnie) Henchen, Jr., Mrs. David (Shirley) Nelson, all of Loyal Mrs. James (Sandy) Loos and Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Kloethn of Marshfield Mrs. Loche (Cathy) Paulson, Sheboygan and Mrs. Vern (Barbara) Miller, Greenwood three sons, James, Sommerville, S.C. Robert, Greenwood and Joseph at home.


Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mary Goodbrand of Riceville, Iowa, two brothers, Cecil, Osage, Iowa, and Stanley, Riceville, Iowa and 14 grandchildren.


His father, William, preceded him in death.


Pallbearers were Art Sonderegger, Art Olson, Art Steffen, Roland Densmore, Delmond Johnson and Verland Rossow.


Mrs. Julie Feldt was the organist and Miss Terry Rakovec was the vocalist.
