Mayme (Mary) DeKoskie Stanley, age 95, of Kingston, NY, died Saturday, Januay 30, 1999 at Kingston General Hospital.

Mayme was born August 29, 1903 in Kingston, NY to Peter and Stanistawa (nee Bogustiwka). Mayme lived in Thorp in the middle 20's and early 30 s, with her sister and brother-in-law Helen and Leon Bogumill. While in Thorp she played the piano for the movies at The Rialto , now a warehouse for Mapleton. Her brother Bill, who was here at that time played violin at the movies, with his sisters Helen and Mayme. She also was a great dancer, having had a dance studio in Kingston, with her brother Bill in the early 20's. She was in much demand as a bridal attendant, as she had brought many gowns with her from New York. She worked for the Bogumill's in the Old Farmer Store, as a clerk (this store is now Ken's Hardware). Also in the office of the Thorp Dairy, for Co-owners Nick Possley and Leon Bogumill (now Saputo Cheese USA, Inc.) Mayme was a member of the Rosary Society and was on the Board of Directors of the New York State Bridge Authority.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Helen (Mrs. Leon Bogumill) her three brothers: Bill, Al and Joe two nephews: Donald Jack DeKoskie and her husband Bill Stanley.

She is survived by her one sister-in-law Victoria Blanco of Florida and only niece Eileen (Bogumill) Frenette of Thorp two nephews: Bill Bogumill of Marshfield, WI and Kingston, NY and Jack's wife Lois of Port Ewen, NY and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Two very special Friends: Diane McCord and Mayme Zoda of Port Swen, New York.

She was buried in Kingston, New York, on Wednesday, February 2, 1999, 9:15 a.m. after a funeral Mass at the Polish Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Church in Kingston the same church were she was baptized and married.

Mayme and her husband Bill Stanley were frequent visitors to Thorp until the death of her sister Helen January 17, 1982.
