OBITUARY OF MRS. WM. BURMEISTER


Mrs. Eliese Burmeister
, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Meier, was born at Bortze, Hanover, Germany on Oct. 4, 1851 and passed away at the home of her son, Henry Burmeister, in the town of Longwood, Clark County, Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 1933. She reached the age of 82 years, 1 month and 15 days. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Germany.


She was married to Wm. Burmeister on Oct. 27, 1876. To this union three children were born in Germany, Henry of the Town of Longwood, William of Owen and a daughter who died in infancy.


The Burmeister family came to America with a brother of Mrs. Burmeister's, Henry Meier, who passed away several years ago, in 1860 and to Withee in 1882.


Mr. Burmeister passed away on Oct. 31, 1901. Up to several years ago she made her home with her son William, who lived on the homestead in Longwood. After William s illness she has made her home with her son Henry. The family have been members of the Braun Settlement Reformed Church for many years.


Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer from the home of Henry Burmeister, Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, at 1:30 p.m. with interment in the Town of Longwood Cemetery beside her husband and brother Henry Meier.
