HENRY BURMEISTER PASSES AWAY


Henry Bermeister
passed away at his home on Route no. 2, Sunday, Oct. 20th, 1935, after a lingering illness of several months.
He was born at Hanover, Germany, on June 29, 1878. When he was three years old his parents and his surviving brother, William came to America, settling on a farm in Taylor County, later the family moved to the farm in Longwood, Clark County now owned by Wm. Burmeister.


He was received into full membership of Salem Reformed Church by the rite of confirmation on April 28, 1895, and has remained a faithful member of this church ever since. During this time he was elected to serve this congregation at different times as deacon, elder, trustee and treasurer.


He was married to Emma Awe of the Town of Green Grove on March 23, 1910. Four children were born to this union, Arthur, who died in infancy, George, who now operates the home farm, and Leona and Alma.


He is survived by his widow, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Burmeister, Leona and Alma and one brother, William.


Funeral services were held from the residence in the town of Longwood, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 23, at 1:30 and from Salem Reformed Church at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. E. G. Pfeiffer officiated. Interment was made in the family lot in the Town of Longwood Cemetery.
Mr. Burmeister leaves to mourn his loss, his family and a host of friends.
