OBITUARY OF MRS. MELVINA PLOOF
 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Abbotsford, Clark County for Mrs. Melvina Ploof, 69, of Superior, who died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Carteron.  Death was caused by hardening of the arteries.


The Rev. C.D. Brady, pastor of St. Bernard's Catholic Church conducted the rites, assisted by Rev. Fr. Bohle of Winter and Rev. L. J. Lang, Colby, for the solemn requiem high mass.


Pallbearers were a son, George Ploof, Chicago three sons-in-law, Henry Beisner, Dorchester Lester Carteron, Greenwood and Frank White, Winter two brothers, Albert Sheff, Hamburg, N.Y. Richard Sheff, Superior.


Mrs. Ploof, nee Melvina Sheff, was born at Glenmore City, Wis., July 8, 1870. When six years old she moved with her parents to Stetsonville. She was married to Chas. Ploof Dec. 29, 1902 . To this union nine children were born, four preceding her in death.
The greater part of her life was spent in Taylor and Clark County.


In 1916 she moved with her family to Superior. The past four years, because of ill health, she has spent among her children at Chicago, Greenwood, Dorchester and Winter.


Surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Genevieve) Beisner, Dorchester, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) White, Winter, Mrs. Lester (Florence) Carteron, Greenwood, two sons, Joseph and George Ploof, Chicago. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, six sisters, Mrs. Ella Rice, Chelsea Mrs. Josie Welmot, and Mrs. Beatrice Pelletien, both of Superior Mrs. Emma Goadley, Canada Mrs. Jenny Panger, Cloquet, Minn. Sr. M. Hanorine, St. Rose Convent, La Crosse three brothers, Albert Sheff, Hamburg, N.Y Joseph and Richard Sheff, Superior.
