FORMER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

The very large circle of friends were shocked and grieved when the death of Mrs. F. C. Coffman was announced at 7:10 Friday evening, Nov. 1, 1940. She had been ill for only three days and death was caused by a heart attack.

Aldos F. Stoneberg was born Dec. 4, 1876 at Toronto, Canada. When one year old she, with her parents, moved to Wisconsin and later moved to Cottage Grove, Ore., where on Feb. 10, 1898 she and F. C. Coffman were married. They resided there until 1921 when the family moved to North Bend.

Since her residence here Mrs. Coffman gave much of her time to the welfare of her family and many friends. She was elected secretary of the Neighbors of Woodcraft, serving as such in Cottage Grove and in North Bend.

The funeral service was held at Peterson's Monday afternoon at 3:30, conducted by the Rev. J. R. Adearns.

The immense number of beautiful floral offerings testified the high esteem in which this noble lady was held by all.

She is survived by her husband, 3 sons, Rupert V., Claude C. and Melvin A. Coffman and 3 daughters, Mrs. Stella Dardis, Mrs. Rodney Hanson and Miss Thelma Coffman, all of this community.

Relatives from Cottage Grove attending the funeral services were Mrs. May Stoneburg, Mrs. Annie Gaber , Mrs. Elsie DeYoung, Mrs. Ferne Anderson and son, Mrs. Zelma Groom, Mrs. Ruth Caldwell, Mrs. Vera Pentros, Mrs. Florence Willoughly.

The above article was taken from the North Bend, Ore. paper and Mrs. Coffman will be remembered by many here as she lived here (Greenwood, Clark County) and attended school here.
