ART SCHUETTE KILLED BY LIGHTNING


Lightning caused the death of Arthur E. Schuette, Town of Beaver, Clark County farmer Monday afternoon, May 26, 1941.


Schuette was at work with a team of mules and a manure spreader in a field on his farm, when he was struck by lightning during a severe electrical storm. His body was found shortly afterward.
One of the mules was also killed, while the other was unhurt.


Deceased was born in Kewaunee County on Nov. 30, 1889, and came to the Town of Beaver with his parents at the age of 19. He was married to Martha Hardrath on Oct. 27, 1915 in Loyal, and they moved to their farm shortly after their marriage.


Surviving are his wife, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Schuette of Beaver four brothers, Albert, Walter and Lester of Beaver and George of Genoa City and two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Will of Gilman and Mrs. Fred Klimcher of Manitowoc.


Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Viking Theatre, Loyal, at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. Burial will be made in the Beaver Cemetery.
