Funeral services for Mrs. Chester (Signe) Hebert, 74, of 215 S. Union, Loyal, Clark County, were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept 26, at the United Methodist Church, Loyal.


Mrs. Hebert passed away suddenly at her home at 9 p.m., Thursday Sept. 22, 1977.


Officiating at the funeral service was Rev. Charles Sanford. Mrs. Connie Meyer was the soloist and Mrs. Julie Feldt played the organ. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.


Signe Johnson was born to William and Amanda Johnson on April 24, 1922 at Loyal and received her education the Town of Beaver Schools.


She was married to Chester Hebert on Sept. 20, 1922 at Loyal. They farmed all their lives in the Town of Beaver and moved to Loyal in 1961. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972.


She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Loyal, and its Ladies Aid.


Surviving her are her husband, Chester one daughter, Mrs. John (Gloria) Lea Vesseur of Chippewa Falls one son, Leland of Loyal one half-brother, Ulysses Cain of Loyal one half-sister, Mrs. Phoebe Karnopp of Winfired, Mont. eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by one brother, Carl.


Serving as pallbearers were Al Bushman, Sylvester Rueth, Lester Bloom, Hugh Johnson, Westley Johnson and Roy Martens. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
