PETERSON BURIAL CONDUCTED TODAY
GREENWOOD RESIDENT OF 55 YEARS SET UP TELEPHONES HERE


Greenwood--Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson, 77, Greenwood, Clark County, died at her home at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 1948. Burial services were held for her today at 2 p.m. in the Cole Funeral Home. Thomas Gantenbeing, La Crosse, Christian Science reader, officiated.


The body will be cremated in Minneapolis.


Elizabeth Spencer was born Jan. 18, 1871 at Hixton. She received her education there, and on May 17, 1893, she married Peter E. Peterson at La Crosse.


They had lived in Greenwood for the past 55 years and operated the telephone company, which they organized in 1905.


She was a member of Christian Science Church, and belonged to the Greenwood Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.


Besides her husband who lives at Greenwood, she is survived by two children, Everett, Pontiac, Mich. and Mrs. Ray (Cehpa) Knutsen, Greenwood.
