JOHN T. DRUMMOND DIES IN GREENWOOD
FORMER GREENWOOD ALDERMAN WILL BE BURIED THURSDAY AFTERNOON

Greenwood--John T. Drummond, 77, died suddenly Saturday night, Dec. 5, 1942 at 7:30 o'clock at his home, the result of a heart attack. He had suffered an attack Oct. 7, after which he had been confined to his home five weeks, but had been up since that.

John Tabor Drummond, son of the late James and Priscilla Drummond, of Scotch-Irish parentage, was born in Necedah June 29, 1865 and was married there Jan. 8, 1890, to Ida Louise Williams, who preceded him in death March 4, 1942. Two years ago the Drummonds had observed their golden wedding anniversary.

After their marriage, the Drummonds lived at Necedah, where Mr. Drummond was employed in the store of the Lyman Lumber Company and later owned a store. Fort-two years ago they came to Greenwood, Clark County, where he was affiliated with the Big Store for 27 years, then owned the present Clayton store for three years, and retired 12 years ago.

A former member of the Greenwood School Board and of the Greenwood City Council, Mr. Drummond was a member of Grace Methodist Church, the Modern Woodmen of America, the order of Eastern Star, and the Masonic Lodges.

Surviving are a son, Emil, newspaper editor at Cook, Minn. a daughter, Mrs. John (Vera) Wuehthrich, Greenwood a sister, Mrs. Walter Eaton, Necedah four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jean, who died at the age of 12, and by a brother, Perry James, who died five years ago in Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Drummond home and at 2 o'clock at the Grace Methodist Church, the Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
