FRANK LESAR, 73


Greenwood--Frank Jess Lesar, 73, who served almost 40 years as the only rural mail carrier in Willard, Clark County, died unexpectedly at his home at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 1970 of an apparent heart attack.


Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Michael Mertens, pastor, will officiate.


Visitations may be made at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood beginning Wednesday afternoon. A general rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lesar was born Dec. 10, 1896 in Ely, Minn. He came to the Willard area in 1910 with his parents and taught school at the McKinley school near Willard before becoming a rural mail carrier in 1926. He retired in 1967, after which he was honored by the Clark County Rural Carriers Association for his 40 years of service.


He was married to Veroica Kosmosky of Neillsville, who preceded him in death Jan. 12, 1949.


Survivors include four sisters, Misses Mary, Frances, Anna, and Agnes Lesar, all of Willard three brothers, John Lesar, Willard Joseph Lesar West Bend and Louis Lesar, Ely, Minn.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
