FORMER AREA COUPLE KILLED

Greenwood--A former Greenwood, Clark County couple, (Charles )William D. Mast, 61, and his wife, Florence, 60, of route 1, Whitewater, was killed Sunday, Jan. 21, 1973 in a three car accident on icy Highway 47 near Huntley, Ill., in McHenry County.

Authorities said Mast and his wife were pronounced dead on arrival at a Woodstock, Ill. Hospital. Further details of the accident were not available.

Committal services for Mr. and Mrs. Mast will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greenwood. The Rev. Leander Koopman, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Greenwood, will officiate.

Funeral services for the couple will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick s Catholic Church at Whitewater, with the Rev. Richard Walsh officiating at the Mass.
Arrangements are in charge of the Stindingsrud Funeral Home in Whitewater, where visitations may be made Wednesday between the hours of 4 and 9 p.m. A rosary service will be held there at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Mast left Greenwood about 1963. They had farmed southeast of here for a number of years before moving into town, when Mr. Mast became a city employee. At Whitewater, the couple had been employed at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Mast were natives of Chicago, where the former was born Jan. 3, 1913. His wife Florence, whom he married in Chicago, Aug. 1, 1937, was born July 30, 1912.
The couple was members of St. Patrick s Church at Whitewater and of St. Mary's Church in Greenwood before moving to Whitewater.

Their survivors are two sons, James, Glendale Heights, Ill., and Charles, route 1, Whitewater two daughters, Mrs. John Bruce, Fort Atkinson, and Mrs. Kenneth Ochallo, Sun Prairie, Wis. and six grandchildren.

Other survivors of Mr. Mast are two sisters, Mrs. William Karrivin, Franklin Park, Ill., and Mrs. Thomas Maquire, Oak Park, Ill.

Additional survivors of Mrs. Mast are two brothers, Andrew J. Flurkey, Chicago, and Earl Flurkey, Crytsal, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Howard Coghlin, Chicago.
