ROBERT MENGEL


Robert Mengel, 61, Route 4, Neillsville, Clark County, died Monday, July 3, 1989 at 7:55 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Friday, July 7, 1989 at the United Methodist Church, Loyal. Rev. Ronald Stelzlen officiated the service and burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Erickson, Art Berg, Richard Jensen, Benny Heck, Wayne Voss and Wallace Erickson.


Robert Mengel was born April 19, 1928 in Loyal to Irvin and Jessie (Castner) Mengel. He received his education from rural Loyal Schools. He married Joyce Arndt in Withee, on Oct. 9, 1948. He farmed all his life in the town of York. For the past 28 years he was employed by Wallace Erickson.


Survivors include his wife, four sons, Irvin, Neillsville; Marvin, Thorp Richard, Neillsville; Roger, Antigo; four daughters, Miss Jean Mengel, Union Grove; Miss Susan Mengel, La Crosse; Mrs. Marshall (Carol) Fagan, Marshfield; Mrs. Arlo (Cindy) Stutte, Antigo; one brothers, Harry (Bud) Mengel, Stratford; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Alice) Heckel, Marshfield; Mrs. Leo (Yvonne) Plantico, Owen; and six grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, one son, Mark, and two daughters, Beverly and Jesse.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled the arrangements.
