HERMAN LIESKE


Herman Lieske, 76, of 610 West Clark, Spencer, passed away at 2:25 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1978, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services for Herman Lieske were held at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6. Pastor Bruno Schlactenhaufen officiated and David Anderson was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Julie Feldt on the organ. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.


Herman Lieske was born on Sept. 8, 1901 at Clyman, Wis. in Dodge County to Theodore and Caroline Lieske. He received his education at rural Dodgeville and Loyal Schools.


He came with his parent to Loyal in 1912.


He was married to Ruth Stange at Loyal on April 26, 1934. They farmed in the Town of Sherman from 1942 until 1976, when he retired and moved to Spencer.


He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.


Survivors include his wife, Ruth two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Carol) Spaulding of Black Creek and Mrs. Larry (Kristin) Klemke of Unity one son, John of Loyal one brother, Arthur of Loyal two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Stange of Loyal and Miss Edna Lieske of Loyal and seven grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.


John Lieske, Lester Spaulding, Bruce Spaulding, Carl Spaulding, Larry Klemke and Lloyd Collinson served as pallbearers.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
