JOHN MONEGAR


John Monegar, 33, a former Greenwood, Clark County resident, now residing in Chippewa Falls, was found dead in his hotel room Saturday evening, Feb. 4, 1978. Death was believed to have occurred sometime on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1978.


A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Stacy Estates Cemetery. A memorial service followed at the Buker residence. Rev. James Selmser of Winnebago United Church of Christ officiated and Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


John Monegar was born on July 5, 1944 at Black River Falls and attended Greenwood grade and high school. He went to vocational school to become a welder and then worked for a number of years for a Marshfield form as a welder. He was presently employed as a maintenance man for Northern Colony of Chippewa Falls.


He was a member of Winnebago United Church of Christ.


Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Buker, Greenwood two half-brothers, Clarence Monegar of Crystal, Minn. and Kenneth Buker of Marshfield and three half-sisters, Mrs. Mona (David) Garthune of Minneapolis, Mrs. Marsha Fox of Minnetonka, Minn., and Mrs. Martha Sullivan of Duluth, Minn.


Preceding him in death was his father, Clarence Monegar.
