Vesel, Margaret Irene (1899 - 1966)


GREENWOOD--Mrs. John Vesel, 66, Greenwood, Clark County, died unexpectedly at 6:15 p.m. Monday, June 27, 1966 at her home. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Hill Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Aloysius Baumann will officiate and burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The body will repose at the funeral home from Wednesday afternoon until time of services. A general rosary service will be conducted there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.


The former Margaret Irene Schutte was born Oct. 24, 1899, at Calumet, Mich., and was married there June 10, 1920, to John Vesel. The couple made their home in Calumet, Mich., for one year before coming to Greenwood, where they had resided since.
Mrs. Vesel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Roy Neighbors of America, and was a Gold Star Mother.


In addition to her husband, survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Margaret) Brown, Bergland, Mich. and Mrs. Eugene (Josephine) Sowieja, Greenwood four sons, Bernard, West Allis Raymond, Colgate Robert, Greenwood and Charles, Chicago four sisters, Mrs. Anna Raper and Mrs. Jack (Florence) Maynorich, Phoenix, Mich. Mrs. Victor (Elizabeth) Seavoy, Negaunee, Mich. and Miss Martha Schutte, Ahmeek, Mich. four brothers, John, Peter and Marcus Schutte, Ahmeek, Mich. and Edward Schutte, Chicago and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John, who was killed in 1943 while serving in World War II.
