Polzin, Lavern Raymond (1914 - 1964)


GREENWOOD
--Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood for Lavern Raymond Polzin, 49, Greenwood, Clark County, who died early Saturday morning, July 24, 1964, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. He had been admitted there one hour before his death, after being transferred from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where he had been a patient for several days.


The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiated, and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Lavern Raymond Polzin was born July 17, 1914, at Big Falls, and received his education in the Waupaca schools. In 1937 he came to Greenwood, and was employed at the John Wuethrich Creamery until 1961. Then he had been employed as a bartender at Ray's Bar. His marriage to Elva Ratke took place April 4, 1938, at Neillsville.
Mr. Polzin was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George (Marie) Moore, Greenwood and Karen and Kay, at home five sisters, Mrs. Mike (Phyllis) Krajcik, Mrs. Robert (Angeline) Wells Mrs. Allen (Jean) Hills, and Mrs. Marvin (Darlene) Smith, Milwaukee and Mrs. Gordon (Ruby) Schneider, Reedsburg seven brothers, Victor, Logansport, Ind. Herbert Jr., Whitewater Wayne and Joseph, Delavan Robert and James, Milwaukee and William, Big Falls his father and step mother, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Polzin, Big Falls and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and three step sisters.
