WILLIAM BRZEZINSKI, SR.


William Brzezinski, Sr.
, 78, of Greenwood, Clark County, passed away in Phoenix, Ariz., on Feb. 28, 1978 while visiting his son, William, Jr. and other relatives. He was stricken with a heart attack and died in Phoenix Baptist Hospital.


Scripture services were held on Wednesday evening, March 1 at 7 p.m. at Grimshaw Funeral Home by the Rev. John Van Zelst of St. Louis VI Parish. The funeral mass was held at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel at 9:30 a.m. on March 2. Burial was in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Phoenix.


Mr. Brzezinski was born in N. Tonda Wanda, N.Y. on June 9, 1899. He moved to Detroit, Mich., where he married Sophie Madorski in 1926. They moved to Thorp, where they owned and operated the Kit Kat Tavern. They then moved to Greenwood in 1950 where they built and operated the Ritz Theatre until 1970 when they retired.


Survivors include his wife, Sophie two sons, William, Jr. of Glendale, Ariz. And Leonard of Milwaukee two daughters, Rosemary D. Paprocki and Donna Horner, both of Milwaukee one brother, Walter of Thorp two sisters (the rest of my copy was cut off)
