    Farning, John (1904 - 1956)


    GREENWOOD--Funeral rites will be held at the Stabnow Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Monday for John Farning, 51, a native of this community (Greenwood, Clark County), whose death occurred at the Ford Convalescent Home in Rhinelander. He had been living in Minocqua.


    Officiating at the final rites will be the Rev. Ethel Nulton of Grace Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.


    Friends may call at the local funeral home beginning Sunday noon.


    Mr. Farning was born in the Town of Eaton Sept. 13, 1904, and received his education here. He was not married and for the past 10 years had been employed at resort work in northern Wisconsin. Prior to that he worked at a door and sash factory at Wausau for many years.


    Surviving him are five brothers and sisters, Robert, Schiller Park, Ill. Clarence, Colby Mrs. Walter (Helen) Gehrke, Wausau Miss Iola Farning, Greenwood, and Henry, Abbotsford. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Farning, by two brothers, Arthur and Edward.
