IGNATIUS KOSCHAK


Ignatius Koschak
, Greenwood, Clark County, died Friday, April 7, 1978 at 3:20 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was 70.


Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood, the Rev. Robert Houston, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.


Mr. Koschak was born July 18, 1907 in Ely, Minn. He attended Willard Rural school. Before marriage he worked at North Hendren Cheese Factory.


On Oct. 19, 1932 he married Frances Francel at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. She survives.


From 1942-47 he owned and operated the Bellinger Dairy in Thorp. In 1947 he operated a cheese factory, the Blue Moon Plant in Owen. He then managed Pauly's Cheese Factory in Athens and later moved to Greenwood to manage Greenwood Milk Products Factory, retiring in 1968.


A well-known cheese maker, Mr. Koschak received the governor's sweepstake for the highest quality cheese in Wisconsin in 1947.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the K.S.K.J. Slovanian Society.


Surviving besides his wife, are five daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Bobb, Watertown, Mrs. Donald (Frances) Ternus of Wausau, Mrs. Frank (Kathleen) Parkel, Stoughton, Mrs. Thomas (Bernadine) Wall of Kimberly, and Mrs. Gary (Mary Jo) Rinholen, Mondovi four brothers, Louie of Waukegan, Ill., Ludwig, Jacksonville, Fla., Frank of Willard, Stanley of Santa Monica, Calif. five sisters, Mrs. Charles (Jennie) Krapf, Greenwood, Mrs. Charles (Christine) Belensky, Waukegan, Mrs. Tony (Angeline) Knutel, Waukegan, Mrs. Henry (Ann) Lamovec of Eau Claire and Mrs. Mary Lesar of Willard and nine grandchildren.


David Koschak, Donald Lesar, Henry Lamovec, James Francel, Arthur Francel and James Koschak were pallbearers and Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
