Braun, George (1895 - 1961)
GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--George Braun, a lifelong resident
of this area, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 4, 1961 at 11:30 a.m. of a heart
attack. He was 66 years of age.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zion United Church of
Christ. The Rev. Orval Egbert will officiate and burial will be made in the
Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Braun was born in Greenwood Jan. 5, 1895. His marriage to the former Blanche
Smith took place Aug. 22, 1922, in Greenwood. He farmed in this area for a
number of years, operating a farm northeast of Greenwood from 1957 until his
retirement last fall.
He was a member of the Zion United church of Christ and a director of the
Greenwood Cooperative Credit Union, and a former supervisor for the Town of
Warner.
He is survived by his wife three daughters, Catherine and Jean of .(the rest of
