Prebil, Frank A. (1906 - 1960)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Hill Funeral Home and then at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard for Frank A. Prebil, 54, a former Willard resident, who died Friday Dec. 23, 1960, at his home in Boyceville. The Rev. Aloysius Madic officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.


Pallbearers were Louis Matkovich, Gerald Crotzer, John Lesar, Louis Champa, Jone Perme and Louis Perko.


Mr. Prebil was born in Ely, Minn., April 3, 1906. As a young boy he moved with his parents to a farm near Willard. He received his education in the Willard schools, and was married to the former Alice Klancher at Chicago, Ill., Jan 15, 1927. Until recently the Prebils operated the Gamble Store at Boyceville. Prior to that they operated businesses at Willard and Granton for many years. He was a member of the Catholic Church at Menomonie.


Survivors include his wife three daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Petkovsek, Willard, Mrs. Virginia Van Tatenhove, Los Angeles, Calif., and Sandra, at home one son, Richard, Milwaukee four sisters, Mrs. William (Mary) Zimmerman, Beaver Dam Mrs. Walter (Frances) Evans, Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Ray (Pauline) Winkenwereder, Watertown and Mrs. Michael (Elsie) Jens, Beaver Dam a brother, Anthony (Bill) Prebil, Willard and eight grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his father, who died May 5, 1960, and by his mother on Sept. 25, 1941.
