Bayuk, Eleanor (1921 - 1978)


Funeral services for Mrs. William (Eleanor) Bayuk, 56, of Route 1, Willard, Clark County, will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard.


Mrs. Bayuk passed away at 5 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 1978, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield of cancer.


Officiating at the services will be Rev. Richard Bayuk of Liberty, Miss., Rev. Michael Mertens of LaCrosse and Rev. James Lesczynski of Willard. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.


The body will lie in state at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church. A Wake Mass will be held at 8 p.m., Thursday, June 8.


Eleanor Zima was born in Sterns County, Minn. to James and Gertrude Zima on Sept. 12, 1921 and received her education at St. Stephens Schools.


She was a World War II veteran, serving from April 18, 1944 to Jan. 13, 1946.


She married William Bayuk on Aug. 28, 1948, at St. Stephens, Minn.


After their marriage they moved to the Town of Hendren where they farmed.


She was a member of Holy Family Parish and its PCCW.


Surviving are her husband, William three sons, Dr. James Bayuk of LaCrosse, Paul and Stephen, at home four daughters, Mrs. Steve (Carol) Steiger of Junction City, Mrs. Ed (Nina) Lube of Billings, Mont., and Mary Ellen and Betty, both at home two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Josephine) Bayuk of Willard and Mrs. Robert (Marie) Zimmerman of Boise, Idaho and one brother, Richard Zima of St. Joseph, Minn.


Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge of arrangements.
