WILLIAM TUCKER


Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 22 at the United Methodist Church, Loyal, for William Tucker, 76, of 402 West Mill St., Loyal, Clark County, who passed away at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 1978 at Colonial Home in Colby.
Rev. Charles Sanford will officiate and Mrs. Connie Meyer will be the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Julie Feldt on the organ. Interment will be in the Loyal Cemetery.


The body will lie in state at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal after 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 21 and after 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 22 at the church.


William Tucker was born on March 24, 1902 in the Town of Eaton to George and Mable Tucker. He received his education at Prosperity School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1920.


He married on Nov. 12, 1924 to Norma Herdrich in the Town of Loyal.


He farmed all his life in the Town of Eaton (the farm has been in the family for over a century), retiring in 1949. He was then employed by the Loyal Canning Company and Pathfinder in Spencer. He retired in 1963.


He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Town of Eaton Board and also the Prosperity School Board.


Survivors include his wife, Norma two daughters, Mrs. Claude (Gwen) Bickler of Wausau; and Mrs. Vern (Noreen) Gardner of Greenwood; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Bessie) Blancher of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were one brother and one grandchild.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, is in charge of arrangements.
