Mrs. Lydia Tieman, 70, of 315 North Hendren, Greenwood, Clark County, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 1978 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Services for Mrs. Tieman were conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 17 at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood.


Rev. Lourinda Sanford officiated and Gary Schultz was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Gary Schultz on the organ.


Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


Lydia Wessel was born to Adolph and Anna Wessel in Greenwood on Oct. 1, 1907 and received her education in Greenwood Schools.
She was married to Donald Tieman on June 2, 1927 in Illinois.


After their marriage they lived in Janesville for one year and then moved to Thorp. In 1941 they moved to Greenwood, where they operated a farm. After his death in 1967, she moved to the City of Greenwood and worked for five years at Katie's Caf .


She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its ladies aid.


Surviving her are three sons, Donald of Willard, Robert of Watersmeat, Mich.; and Roger of Lake Zurick, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Violet) Hoeper of Greenwood; and Mrs. James (Lila) Oelhafen of Willard; one brother, Albert Wessel of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, three brothers and one sister.


Donald Tieman, Jr., Larry Tieman, Scott Oelhafen, Danny Oelhafen, Jeff Hoeper and Rodney Hoeper served as pallbearers.
