Miksha, Mary (1897 - 1991)


Mary (Shiltz) Miksha, 93, formerly of Willard, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, 1991, at 2 p.m. at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. James Lesczynski officiated and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Kebl, Stan Pernic, Jerry Glasshol, Louie Kebl, Val Krainz and Joe Poehnelt.
Mary Kozar was born sept. 7, 1897, in Yugoslavia, to George and Magdeline (nee Cherzlich) Kozar. She married Fred Shiltz July 3, 1916. She spent her first 10 years in Aurora, Minn., and then moved to Willard in 1926. They farmed until 1949 in the Town of Hendren. He preceded her in death July 20, 1949. She married Joseph Miksha May 11, 1954. She moved to Marshfield in 1950 and lived there until entering the Neillsville Home in March 1990. She was preceded in death by her second husband on Dec. 20, 1965. She was a member of SNPJ Slovanian Lodge, 198 and St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield.


Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary (Louie) Kebl, Marshfield, and Mrs. Genevieve (Emil) Malnar, Marshfield one son, Fred Shiltz, Marshfield five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.


Memorial may be given to the Neillsville Home.
