Kehrberg, Gerhard H. (1895 - 1991)
 

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 14, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, for Gerhard H. Kehrberg, 95, Neillsville Memorial Home, who died Thursday, Jan. 10, 1991, at Memorial Home. Rev. Joseph Kraly officiated and burial was at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers were Mark Kehrberg, Randy Kehrberg , Ward Patton, Erwin Dux, Morvin Benedict and Joe Peohnelt.

Gerhard H. Kehrberg was born Dec. 20, 1895, in Marshfield, to Herman F. and Augusta Kehrberg. He received his elementary education at Immanuel Lutheran Church School in Marshfield. He then entered Northwestern College in Watertown, where he finished his high school grades and graduated in Business Administration within five years. After graduation, he worked for a rug manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 1 years. He married Cornelia Pitz Jan. 11, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1984. After their marriage, they operated a variety store in Neenah for one year. They then operated a variety store in Loyal until 1949. In 1953, they opened an A W drive-in in Marshall, Mich. In 1955, they opened another A W drive-in in Chariton, Iowa. After that, he helped his son at Kehrberg's Store in Loyal, until retirement in 1979. He entered Neillsville Memorial Home June 7, 1989. For many years he played violin with the Loyal Orchestra. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and on the church board for a number of years and a member of the church choir for many years. He was also a member of the Loyal Public School Board for a number of years.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence, Puyallup, Wash., and Wilbur, Loyal five granddaughters and 10 grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, and one son and one daughter in infancy.
