JOHN PETKOVSEK


Funeral services for John Petkovsek, 76, of Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood, with the Rev. Robert Houston officiating.


Mr. Petkovsek passed away at 4:30 a.m., Monday, July 24, 1978 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.


Interment was in Holy Family Cemetery, Willard. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


John Petkovsek was born to John and Mary (Germovsek) Petkovsek in Springfield, Ill. On Dec. 30, 1901 and received his education at Springfield and Willard schools.


He was never married. He worked at Chicago Steel Mills and later farmed in the Town of Mead for 1930 to 1945. He then worked at Wuethrich's Creamery for 10 years.


He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.


Surviving him are three brothers, Frank of Chicago; Marten of Chicago; and William of Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Lessen, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Beton of Niles, Ill.; And Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Gregorich of Willard.


He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers and one sister.


William Petkovsek, Marten Petkovsek, Frank Petkovsek, Bill Petkovsek, Charles Bruske and Leo Gregorich were pallbearers.
