Buchholz, Fredrick E. (1900 - 1978)
 

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Christie Methodist Church for Fredrick E. Buchholz, 77, Rt. 3, Neillsville, Clark County, who passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 1978.
Rev. William Noble, Neillsville, officiated and interment was in the Town of Weston Cemetery.


Fredrick Buchholz was born Nov. 8, 1900 in Lincoln County. He received his education at Stetsonville and Dorchester and farmed with his parents in the Stetsonville area until moving to a farm in the Christie area in 1918. He had worked as a cheesemaker in Shortville and Athens for a few years, then took over his father s farm at Christie in 1927, where he remained until his retirement in 1965.
He had served as treasurer and chairman for the Town of Weston for several years and was a member of the school board. He was a member of the Christie Methodist Church.


He was married to the former Mabel G. Morse on Jan. 20, 1924 at Neillsville.


Survivors include his wife four daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Leona) Mueller of New Berlin, Mrs. Jerry (Alice) Smith of Neillsville, Mrs. Leland (Martha) Appleyard of Sparta and Mrs. Lawrence (Caroline) Spaete of Belvidere, Ill. two sons, Arnold of Greenwood and Richard of Neillsville three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Leonhardt of Abbotsford, Mrs. Alma May of Janesville and Mrs. Martha Gutenberger of Neillsville 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a son, Fredrick one grandson and one great-grandson.
