Meacham, Alice Marie (1914 - 1991)


Alice Marie Meacham, 76, Colby, died Friday, May 24, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 26, 1991, at 2:30 p.m. at Spencer United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth Barnes officiated and burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Meacham, Jerome Meacham, Bruce Stanley, James Bissonette, Ken Monness, and Roger Schweke.


Alice Marie Holmes was born June 26, 1914, in the town of Unity, to Henry and Alice (nee Pond) Holmes. She was a Unity High School graduate. She married Roscoe Meacham Nov. 20, 1933, at their home on the farm. They farmed in the town of Unity. She was a member of the Maplewood Homemakers, was a 4-H leaders for many years, was a member of the Spencer United Methodist Church and was active for many years in the Unity Methodist Church.


Survivors include her husband two sons, Duane Meacham, Unity and Jerrald Meacham, Burlington one daughter, Joan Schweke, Spencer two sister, Eunice Blair, Abbotsford and Mrs. Harvey (Myrtle) Mecham, Colby eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, and three great-grandchildren.


Rux Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
