Blasing, Beverly R. (1938 - 2001)


Beverly R. Blasing, 62, Neillsville, died on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at her home. Memorial services were held at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. Douglas Schalow officiated.


Beverly Rose Blasing was born on April 8, 1938, in Jefferson. She attended and graduated from Jefferson High School. She worked as a nurses aid and also at a turkey farm in Jefferson. She later moved to Kenosha, where she married and started a family. She also lived and farmed in Spencer, Loyal, and Granton. After her farm in Granton was sold, she began cleaning for many households in the area. She also cleaned for the WCCN radio station. Along with those jobs, she also worked for Crothers Greenhouse and Antiques. She eventually moved to Neillsville where she had lived for the past 12 years. She continued working until her health forced her to retire a year and a half ago. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and their ladies aide in Granton. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Veefkind Homemakers, and the Farmers Union. She was also a lifetime member of the Clark County Historical Society as well as a lifetime member of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association. She lived Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. Her biggest hobby was her flowers and she also enjoyed bird watching.


Survivors include her seven children, Harry (Michelle) Burkhalter, Neillsville, Mavis Burkhalter, Neillsville, Michael (Helen) Burkhalter, Marshfield, Leslie Burkhalter, Spencer, Sarah (John ) Vollmer, Neillsville, Jackie (Marvin) Schoenherr, Granton, and Gene (Kathy) Burkhalter, West Salem three grandchildren one brother-in-law, Robert Wittl, Lakeland, Fla. and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.


Gesche Funeral Home, Granton, assisted the family with arrangements.
