Voelker, Lois Jean (1939 - 2001)


Lois Jean Voelker, 61, Athens, died on Friday, March 16, 2001, at Colonial Center, Colby. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 20, at Community Funeral Home, Colby. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiated.


Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery, town of Colby. Pallbearers were Arvin Kramer, Bennie Mootz, Mike Sheets, Donald Drinka, Roy Bailey, and Robert Voelker.


Lois Jean Morrison was born on July 11, 1939, to Lester and Pearl (nee Kenyon) Morrison. She attended Spencer schools. She married Stanley Voelker on July 28, 1956, in Colby. She enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren, collecting dolphins, and camping.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Voelker, Athens her father, Lester Morrison, Marshfield 10 children, Ronald (Claudette) Voelker, Dorchester, David Voelker, Abbotsford, Donald Voelker, Abbotsford, Steve (Debra) Voelker, Abbotsford, Tammy (Mike) Sheets, Dorchester, Nancy Voelker, Abbotsford, Lori (Donald) Drinka, Colby, Ann (Vernon Jr.) Patz, Chetek, Jamie Voelker, Abbotsford, and Amy Voelker, Abbotsford 14 grandchildren five step-grandchildren three sisters, Kathy Kotas, Stratford, Marlene Mootz, Merrill, and Linda Elmhorst, Neillsville two brothers, Ray Morrison, Loyal, and Jim Morrison, Montevideo, Minn. 27 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah, one son, Kevin her mother, Pearl Morrison and her in-law, Oscar and Harriet Voelker.


Community Funeral Home, Colby, assisted the family with arrangements.
