Plautz, Alice Cynthia (1903 - 2001)


Alice Plautz, 97, Owen, formerly of Willard, died on Monday, March 12, 2001, at the Clark County Health care Center, Owen. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 14, at the Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m., and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 15, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Family catholic Cemetery.


Alice Cynthia Robey was born on Sept. 21, 1903, in River Falls, to Manuel and Anna (nee Ness) Robey. She graduated from the River Falls High School and attended the UW-River Falls, where she received her teaching degree. She taught as a young woman in the Clayton, Loyal, and Greenwood school districts. She married Stephen Joseph Plautz on June 11, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn. They resided in the Willard area and raised a family. He died on Aug. 8, 1982, and she continued to reside at her home in Willard until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in the fall of 1995. She enjoyed sewing, bird watching, flower gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of the local homemakers group as well as the Holy Family PCCW.


Survivors include three sons, Floyd (Virginia) Plautz, Greenwood, Paul (Rosalie) Plautz, Milwaukee, and Philip (Joyce) Plautz, West Allis nine grandchildren two step-grandchildren four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband one son, Robert, in 1984 two grandchildren and 8 brothers.


Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
