Haslow, Vernal R. (1915 - 2001)


Vernal R. Haslow, 86, Loyal, Clark County, died on Saturday, June 2, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, June 5, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were his nephews, Burnell and Orval Yaeger, Jim Boettcher, Gordon Landwehr, Verlyn Pockrandt, and Larry Lucht.


Vernal Haslow was born on Jan. 2, 1915, in the town of Sherman, to Robert and Emma (nee Scheel) Haslow. He was educated at Cole School, town of Sherman. After completing his education, he farmed with his parents until their death, continuing to operate the farm until retiring in 1960. He continued to reside on the farm until 1999, when he moved to the Maple Ridge Manor, Spencer.


Survivors include one niece, Audrey Boushon, Sheboygan five nephews, James Boettcher, Oshkosh, Burnell (Carol) Yaeger, Greenwood, Gordon (Betty) Landwehr, Edgar, Orval (Kitty) Yaeger, Sun Prairie, and Verlyn (Loretta) Pockrandt, Loyal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, in infancy two sisters, Esther Yaeger and Martina Pockrandt, and one niece, Udine Boettcher.


Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
