Weis, Mary Ann (1932 - 1980)

Mrs. Lavern (Mary Ann) Weis, 47, of Route 1, Spencer, died in an accident on Highway C on Friday evening, May 9, 1980.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 12 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. Rev. Andrew Bofenkamp officiated and burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery.

A Rosary was said at 8 p.m., Sunday, May 11.

Mary Ann Weix was born on July 29, 1932 in Colby to the late Martin Weix and Mrs. Mary (Nee Tamborino) Weix. She received her education at Colby School.

She was married on June 2, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, to Lavern Weis. They farmed at Route 1, Spencer.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband one son, Arlyn, at home three daughters, Mrs. Tony (Darlene) Nowak of Madison, Mrs. Mark (Pauline) Pryer of Spencer and Lisa, at home one grandchild five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Rita) Schnabel of Colby, Mrs. Leonard (Laura) Riese of Unity, Mrs. Frank (Patricia) Carpenter of Colby, Mrs. Lyle (Erma) Kilty of Colby and Mrs. Norbert (Mary Ellen) Dittner of Marshfield five brothers, Alfphonse of Medford, Paul of Marshfield and Henry, Leonard and Leo, all of Abbotsford.

Mark Carpenter, Ken Ewert, Lawrence Fischer, Gordon Moen, Ray Weis and Dennis Weix served as pallbearers.
