Grambsch, Lyle (1920 - 1980)


Lyle Grambsch, a former Loyal, Clark County resident, passed away at his home in San Jose, Calif. On Sunday, June 29, 1980.


A memorial service will be held at the San Jose United Methodist Church, Sunday, July 6, at 3:00 p.m. This service will use as its theme a meditation that Lyle wrote on his favorite scripture verse, John 3:16.


Lyle was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ben (Lucy) Grambsch in Marshfield on March 6, 1920. When he was four years old the family moved to Loyal. He attended elementary and high school in Loyal, graduating with the Class of 1937. He attended Central state College in Stevens Point before serving in the Navy during World War II.


After the war he moved back to Loyal and went into business with his brother, Clyde. In 1951, he sold his part of the business and moved to California, where he finished college, graduating with a degree in engineering.


At the time of his passing her was employed as an engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Co. at their San Francisco Missile Plant.


He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Adult Christian Fellowship and the Lockheed Model Railroad Club.


He is survived by his wife (former Loretta Robinson) whom he married in Chicago, March 25, 1944, one daughter, Barbara (Mrs. Charles Lucchesi), one son, Richard, and two grandchildren, all of San Jose.
