Elsinger, John (1914 - 1980)


John (Hans) Elsinger, 65, of 317 South Main, Loyal, Clark County, died at his home at about 3:38 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 1980.


Funeral services were conducted by Rev. James Logan at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13. Interment was in the parish cemetery.


John Elsinger was born to the late John Sr. and Anna (nee Redig) Elsinger on Dec. 26, 1914, at Loyal. He received his education at Mack School and St. Anthony's School.


He was married to Marian Rueth on Nov. 23, 1938, at Loyal. After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Loyal until 1961, when they moved to the City of Loyal. He was then employed by E-Z Camper and the City of Loyal.


He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal.


Surviving him are his wife, Marian three sons, Jerry of Spencer, Tom of Milwaukee and Jim of Loyal seven daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Fisher of Spencer, Mrs. William (Jeanette) Erickson of Waunakee, Mrs. Warren (Mary) Tesmer of Brook Park, Ohio, Mrs. Jim (Judy) Wann of Spencer, Mrs. John (Karen) Nelson of Loyal, Mrs. Ralph (Shelby) Schmitt, Jr., Granton and Mrs. Tracy (Pam) Mews of Loyal four brothers, George of San Diego, Cal., Andy of Guttenberg, Iowa, Gerald of Conway, Ark. And Francis of Oshkosh four sisters, Sister M. Florentine of Campbellsport, Mrs. Tom (Veronica) Goode of Florida, Mrs. Richard (Sylvia) Rueter of Florida and Mrs. Paul (Marian) Rueter of DeWitt, Mich., and 21 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers.


At 3:15 p.m., the Parish Council of Catholic Women said the Rosary and a prayer service was at 8 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 12.


Serving as pallbearers were Terry, Andy and Paul Rueth, Herb and Allan Langfeldt and Ray Miller. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
