JOHN GREGORICH
 

John Joseph Gregorich, 84, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1993, at Neillsville Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville.


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1993, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Grandchildren provided the music. Rev. Steve Baures officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Leon Gregorich, Mark Gregorich, Brian Gregorich, Steve Gregorich, LaVerne Gregorich, and Robert Scheuerman.


John Joseph Gregorich was born Aug. 22, 1908, in Bernard, Iowa to John and Mary (nee Peteric) Gregorich.


He received his education in Bernard, Iowa. After his education, he farmed in Willard and then moved to Chicago and worked in a steel factory. He moved back to Wisconsin and started farming. He married Julia Tomac on Aug. 3, 1932, in Willard. She survives. He continued to farm and did masonry work. He then moved back to Chicago in 1962 and worked in a sporting goods store for six years. He retired in 1968 and moved back to the Greenwood area, where he built fishing rods in his spare time. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.


Survivors include his wife five sons, Joe (Judy) Gregorich, Pleasanton, Cal. Bob (Rosie) Gregorich, Spencer Ray (Margie) Gregorich, Big Timber, Mont. LaVerne (Audrey) Gregorich, Willard and Bill Gregorich, Casper, Wyo. one daughter, Nancy Scheuerman, Greenwood 24 grandchildren 58 great-grandchildren two brothers, Matt Gregorich, Greenwood and Leo Gregorich, Willard and two sisters, Mayme Kezele, Willard and Christine Bukovec, Greenwood.


He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers, Edward and Martin one grandchild and one great-grandchild.


Rinka funeral Home handled the arrangements.
