Betty Jane Nowak
, 56, Spencer, died Saturday Nov. 4, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. William Ruhbusch officiated. Burial was in the West Spencer Cemetery, Town of Sherman, Clark County. Pallbearers were Steve Rindfleisch, Tony Boe, Shane Boe, Travis Moen, Darrin Hartman and Keith Porter.


Betty Boe was born on March 31, 1939, in Greenwood, Clark County, to Joseph and Leona (nee Kuester) Boe. She attended schools in Greenwood and Spencer. She married John Nowak on Oct. 13, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. He survives. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield until she retired due to ill health. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former Sunday school teacher there.


Survivors include her husband, John Nowak, Spencer one son, Jonathan Nowak, Spencer four sisters, Sally (Eugene) Rindfleisch, Spencer Mae (Charles) Winters, Davis, Ill. Peggy (Roger) Thompson, Tomahawk and Patty (Joe) Matter, Spencer and two brothers, Jerry (Jackie) Boe, Spencer and Teddy (Christa) Boe, Spencer.


She was preceded in death by one nephew, Doug Rindfleisch, one niece, Doreen Hartman one great-nephew, Joe Boe and one sister-in-law, Glenna Hartman.


Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
