Schrader, Oscar H. (1911 - 1983)


Funeral services for Oscar H. Schrader, 71, Route 1, Willard, Clark County, were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood.

Mr. Schrader died at 12:50 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1983, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He had been in ill health for the past two years.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Daniel Ahrens. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Serving as pallbearers were Wilmer Peterson, Al Volovsek, Al Regel, Carl Weiss, Cyril Marx and Ed Tischendorf. Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield, was in charge of arrangements.

Oscar Schrader was born on March 17, 1911, in Marshfield to Fred and Mary (nee Mellenthin) Schrader. He received his education at Marshfield Schools and was a 1928 graduate of McKinley High School.

After graduation he was employed by Hub City Foods and the Service Bakery.

On April 11, 1942, he and Ada Schultz were married at Wis. Rapids. They observed their 40th wedding anniversary in 1982. They moved to Racine, where he was employed by J. I. Case Co. until his retirement in April 1976. They then moved to the Rock Dam area and have resided there since.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood, where he served as an elder. He was also a member of Greenwood Senior Citizens Club and the Rock Dam Rod and Gun Club. He was active in baseball and bowling, both in Racine and Greenwood.

Surviving are his wife and one brother, James, of Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by twin sons, Billie and Bobbie.
