Darge, William D. (1936 - 1983)


William D. Darge, 47, of 109 Dearborn St., Spencer, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Thursday, Sept. 22, 1983.

Funeral services were on Monday, Sept. 26, 1983, at 1 p.m., at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer. Officiating was Rev. Timothy A Duesenberg, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. Burial was in the East Thorp Cemetery.

William D. Darge was born to William and Clare (nee Doege) Darge at Thorp, Clark County on Feb. 25, 1936. He received his education at Thorp Schools.

He served in the U.S. Navy from June 9, 1954 until June 5, 1958. He was employed by Consolidated Badger Corp. in Marshfield.

On May 23, 1963, he and Pearl Ritter were married in Thorp.

He is survived by his wife seven children, Mrs. Allen (Mona) Ress of Spencer, Mrs. Richard (Vicky) Elpert of Unity, Mrs. Larry (Tammy) Coppadge of South Carolina, Jeff of Greenwood, Paula, Connie and Billie Jo, all at home 2 grandchildren, one brother, Donald of Racine and five sisters, Mrs. Walter (Viola) Graham of Stanley, Dorothy Soper of Eau Claire, Edna Peliwo of Birchwood, Mrs. Stanley (Wilma) Sakowski of Thorp and Mrs. Sam (Elaine) Barecvick of Chicago, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.

Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled arrangements.
