Florence Beyer, 70, Shawano, formerly of Neillsville, Clark County, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 1996, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Charles Thain, Clarence Arquette and Richard Gasser will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.


Florence Asplin was born on Aug. 18, 1925, in the Town of Hewett, Clark County, to Charles and Florence (nee Gerhardt) Asplin. She received her education in the Town of Hewett and attended and graduated from Owen High School in 1944. She then attended the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield and graduated in 1947. She married Robert R. Beyer on Nov. 22, 1947, in Neillsville. After he marriage, she raised her family and worked in the nursing field in different facilities in the area.


Survivors include her husband, Robert R. Beyer, Shawano one daughter, Mrs. Sherry (Bill) Behnke, Cecil two sons, Robert J. (Gloria) Beyer, Shawano and Dick (Laurie) Beyer, Wittenberg eight grandchildren three brothers, Hubert (Bertie) Asplin, Georgetown, Minn. Bill (Joyce) Asplin, Canton, Ohio and Donald (Norma) Asplin, Middleton and six sisters, Lila Sackett, Eau Claire Velda Walker, Osseo Jean (Wendell) Suckow, Marquette, Mich. Lorraine Nulieb, Fergus Falls, Minn. Betty Asplin and Lois Wick, both of Laurel, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Shirley.


Gesche Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
