Claire, Arnold B. (2 OCT 1903 - 3 NOV 1985)


Arnold B. Claire, 82, Greenwood Merchants Hotel, 1055 Main St. Greenwood, Clark County, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 3, 1985 in his apartment at the Greenwood Hotel. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Norbert Miller officiated. Pallbearers were Orlin Schwarze, Walter Backus, Joe Ulesich Jr., Joe Bayuk Sr., Barney Dergance, Ed Bayuk. The organist was Mrs. Linda Dallman.

He was born Oct. 2, 1903 at Mt. Morris, Ill. to Aaron and Lizzie (nee Albright) Claire. He received his education in Willard Schools.

He farmed all his life and had been living on the Ernest Arch farm for 20 years, then moved to the Greenwood Hotel. He was a correspondent for the Willard News. He never married.

Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Scharenbrock, Willard.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and his parents.
