Gladys Liberty Fillipp, 77, Owen, Clark County, died Monday, May 20, 1996, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, where she had been a resident since Nov. 1994. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 1996, at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. Rev. Thomas Myhre will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, from 4-8 p.m.


Gladys Liberty Murray was born on Nov. 7, 1918, in Owen, to Eugene and Lydia (nee Knight) Murray. She was a graduate of Owen High School and lived her entire life in the Owen area, where she did housekeeping work. She married Orville Fillipp on April 2, 1938, in Neillsville. He died on June 5, 1982. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.


Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Allen) Hinker, Greenwood Norene (Bob) Durbin, Withee and Julie Ryona, Owen one sister, Loretta Seubert, Sheboygan one brother, Robert Murray, Owen one daughter-in-law, Virginia Fillipp, Springdale, Ark. six grandchildren, Heather Baumgartner, Kari Pongratz, Ryan Durbin, Lance Ryona, Mark Hinker and Robbie Durbin and four great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband one son, Lynn Fillipp, on June 18, 1973 one son-in-law, Marty Ryona, on May 14, 1996 four brothers and her parents.


Maurina Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
