Westhoff, Walter E. (9 SEP 1900 - 9 APR 1984)


Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 1984, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal for Walter E. Westhoff, 83, of Route 1, Loyal, Clark County.

Mr. Westhoff died on Monday, April 9, 1984, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, at about 8:37 a.m.

Rev. James Logan officiated at the service. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Koski, Jason Hall, Erik Westhoff, Hank Trampush, Ray McNeely and Jeff McNeely. Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Walter Westhoff was born on Sept. 9, 1900 at Germany to August and Maria (nee Odendahl) Westhoff. He was educated in Germany.

He was married to Regina Derpenbrock on May 23, 1928, in Germany. They came to the United States in 1929, and settled in Kansas. They later moved to Chicago, where he worked for International Harvestor Co. They moved to the Loyal area in 1947, where they farmed in the Town of Beaver until 1967, when they retired and continued living on the farm.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife one son, Walter Westhoff Jr. of Antioch, Ill. two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Jutta) Rohs of Roselle, Ill. and Mrs. Magdalena Hall of Loyal and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one sister and his parents.

A Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary was said at 3:15 p.m. and a Prayer Service conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
