Hare, Olive (30 DEC 1893 - 13 OCT 1984)


Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 1984 at the United Methodist Church, Greenwood, for Mrs. Charles (Olive) Hare, 90, of Black River View Apartments, Greenwood, Clark County. She died at 3:12 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Oct. 1.

The Rev. C. Arlene Denzer officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Rahm, Daniel Thrall, William Hare, George Hare Jr., and Duane and John Boushack.

The former Olive Sischo was born, Dec. 30, 1893 in Christie to the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur (Besse Morse) Sischo. She received her education in Neillsville schools, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1911. On Nov. 6, 1912 in North Dakota she was married to Charles Hare. He died April 3, 1972.

After their marriage they farmed for three years in North Dakota and in 1915 came to the Greenwood area. In her later years she worked at canning factories in Greenwood and Loyal. She also worked at an egg factory in Marshfield.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, its Ladies Aid Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons Merril and George, both of Greenwood one daughter, Mrs. Alma Elmhorst of Bourbvonnais, Ill. one sister Mrs. Mike (Ninah) Engel of Spencer one brother, Leo Sischo of Spencer 12 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a great-grandson, a brother and a sister.

Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
