ADAM SKORA

Adam John Skora, 66, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unite, Marshfield.

Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, Sept. 9, 1996, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. His sons served as pallbearers.

Adam John Skora was born on Feb. 9, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to Peter and Mary (nee Stawarz) Skora. He graduated from Foreman High School in 1948 and graduated from Chicago City Jr. College in 1950.

He then entered MacCormac College, at the same time he took evening courses at Northwester and DePaul Universities. He graduated in 1951 with a business administration degree. He then served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 1952 until March 1954 overseas in Korea. He married Kathleen Craver on Oct. 12, 1957, in Chicago. She survives. After the service he held various jobs in bookkeeping, office management and cost accounting until 1965. In 1965 he moved to Greenwood and bought a farm. He worked for Plautz Bros. As a bookkeeper, office manager and V.P. from 1966 1984. He also worked part-time for Branstitter's from 1981 1984. He then worked for Boon Construction until retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and clerk of Mead Township.

Survivors include his wife five daughters, Ann (Dave) Schuh, Eau Claire Frances (Rick) Chesebrough, Thorp Dot Skora, Wausau Susan Skora, Bloomington, Minn. and Amelia Skora, Richfield, Minn. six sons, Patrick (Marcela) Skora, Seoul, Korea Joseph (Lourds) Skora, Eagan, Minn. Arthur Skora, Ear Claire William (Kara) Skora, Monominee David Skora, Grand Forks, N.D. and James Skora, Greenwood four grandchildren and two sisters, Stella Skora, Norridge, Ill. and Lillian (Don) Dattilo, Mount Prospect, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents one son, Stanley, in infancy and three brothers, Chester, Ted and George.

Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
